Taylor

Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomena: an artist who could completely cross over from country to the mainstream becoming a renowned pop-culture icon and conquering the world while doing it. Swift has shed her country roots in the manner of a second skin, revealing she was perhaps the smartest contemporary singer/songwriter in her generation someone who was able to harness the zeitgeist make it personal and just as impressively perform opposite. Swift's early songs, including Her neo song in tribute to Tim McGraw, showed off the talents of her. But her 2008 album Fearless revealed a songwriter who was discovering herself as she found a large fan base. Fearless ended up having a significant reach not just in the U.S. where it racked seven platinum singles on the foundation of Top Ten hits Love Story and You Belong with Me but throughout the world, with a particular success in the U.K. Canada and Australia. Swift had the chance to further consolidate her success by releasing Speak Now almost two year later. In the following three years, Swift's popularity was growing in three different albums -- Red (2012), Reputation (2014) and 1989 (2014-2015) (2014-2015) -- as she moved into a realm of pop where her talents were well-established. She continued to be at the highest of the pop charts even as she cut back on her appearance by releasing her folklore album with siblings in the year 2020, and Evermore.
