Harry Edward Styles - also known as Harry Styles - is a British musician and composer. Harry Styles has been acknowledged as the composer for The One Direction band. The father of Des Styles (father) and Anne Cox, Harry Styles was born on January 1, 1994 in Holmes Chapel. Harry Styles studied at the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School where he created his own group of musicians with three classmates, which was dubbed White Eskimo. Their outstanding performances allowed them to win the Battle of Bands 2009. Harry Styles was selected for The X Factor 2010 audition in which he performed Stevie Wonder's song Is not She Lovely. This meant that his group had to be disbanded. Nicole Scherzinger proposed to Harry Styles that he join of a new band called One Direction. The other band members included Liam Payne Zayn Mallik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson. Simon Cowell sponsored five teenagers to form the band in 2010. The group sang the song Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would be Sucking Without You as well as Bonnie Tyler Total Eclipse of the Heart. As a consequence, they were one of the finalists. They were in third position after Rebecca Ferguson and Matt Cardle, who took home the prize. Harry Styles, his group and Cowell did not take home the prize. But Cowell gave Harry Styles a 2 million dollar contract with Syco.
